The aim of the “A Photo for Life” campaign is to raise the funds needed to purchase an MRI scanner.
MRI scans produce detailed images of the body’s organs and tissues, providing doctors with precise information about the location, size, and extent of cancerous tumours. This valuable information can inform doctors’ decisions when choosing an appropriate treatment, assessing the response to treatment, and monitoring the course of the disease in patients with cancer. In the fight against cancer, every day and every right decision counts.
Given the current circumstances and the many shortcomings in the country’s diagnostic and treatment infrastructure, Omid Charity Association, with the support of donors, has been able to provide the most advanced range of cancer diagnostic and treatment services in northwestern Iran. Following the “Ray of Hope” campaign in the Iranian year 1402 (2023–2024), these services were equipped with the country’s most advanced radiotherapy machine. The association now aims to make its diagnostic and treatment services more comprehensive by purchasing an MRI scanner and, in the next phase, a PET scanner, so that no cancer patient in need is left without access to diagnostic and treatment services or has to travel to another city or province for treatment.
