Omid Hospital is a non-governmental charitable institution and a subsidiary of the West Azerbaijan Cancer Patients Support Charity Association. The association began its activities in 1990 and was officially registered on November 14, 1994, under registration number 29. Omid Hospital was established with the support of philanthropists and benefactors, and today it has become the largest and most advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment center in northwestern Iran. The hospital holds a Grade 1 accreditation from the Ministry of Health, a Certificate of Honor from UNESCO, and consultative status with the United Nations.

Yes, the Emergency Department at Omid Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The department has a dedicated main entrance from the building as well as a secondary entrance on the lower level, ensuring rapid patient access during emergencies. The Omid Hospital Emergency Department is equipped with 10 active beds with cardiopulmonary monitoring, a CPR room with a defibrillator, an isolation room, and an outpatient procedure room. General practitioners, on-call specialist physicians, and experienced nurses are present around the clock.

The Surgery Department at Omid Hospital, staffed by specialist and super-specialist surgeons, covers a wide range of surgical procedures including cosmetic surgery, urology, tumor removal and biopsy, spinal surgery, orthopedic procedures and joint replacement, and outpatient surgical operations. Located on the first floor of the hospital, the department has 18 inpatient beds (comprising 14 general beds, 1 VIP bed, and 3 isolation rooms) along with fully equipped operating theaters featuring advanced medical technology.
Both departments are among the most specialized in West Azerbaijan Province and the broader region, serving international patients. The Oncology Department focuses on treating various cancers through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and advanced therapeutic methods and has 17 inpatient beds. The Hematology Department specializes in blood disorders and blood cancers (such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma) and has 15 inpatient beds. In practice, hematology is part of the hematology-oncology discipline.
The Chemotherapy Department was the first department of the hospital, established in 1996, and currently has 24 inpatient beds. Chemotherapy drugs are administered through four methods: intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intrathecal injection; intravenous infusion via angiocatheter or central venous port; oral administration in the form of tablets and capsules; and topical application on the skin. All medications are administered by a skilled medical team in strict compliance with safety and infection control standards.
Omid Hospital features numerous specialized departments including: Internal Medicine (21 beds — 18 general, 1 VIP, and 2 isolation), Oncology (17 beds), Hematology (15 beds), Chemotherapy (24 beds), Surgery (18 beds), a 24-hour Emergency Department (10 monitored beds), an advanced ICU (17 beds), and fully equipped operating theaters. The care team utilizes advanced equipment such as spirometry, echocardiography, ultrasonography, and portable radiology systems.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Omid Hospital is the most advanced department in the hospital, with 17 inpatient beds equipped with full-parameter vital signs monitors, advanced ventilators, portable ultrasound, portable radiology, and the round-the-clock presence of anesthesiology specialists. This unit provides care for critically ill patients, patients recovering from major surgeries, and those requiring intensive medical supervision.
According to Omid Hospital's policies, each patient is permitted only one companion. Other important rules include: do not leave the ward without notifying the ward supervisor; upon admission, submit all medical documents such as test results and discharge summaries to the department; the hospital is not responsible for valuables or cash belonging to patients or companions; medical records and patient files will only be released to the patient themselves or to a legal guardian/primary caregiver with the patient's consent. Meal schedule: Breakfast at 6:00 AM, Lunch at 12:00 PM, Dinner at 6:00 PM, Snacks at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
