Omid Charity Association for Supporting Cancer Patients, as a non-governmental organization in West Azerbaijan province, has been built on voluntary participation from the very beginning. Volunteering is the core element of charities, and the volunteering journey at Omid Charity Association for Supporting Cancer Patients has a memorable history. From the earliest volunteers at the time of the association’s formation — including Dr. Javad Khashabi, Dr. Saeed Samadzadeh, Haj Asadollah Habibi, the late Dr. Siavash Entezami, and others — to the youth group of Omid Charity, including Dr. Saman Heshmat, Sina Ali Abbasi, Siamak Ardi, Peyman Ghanizadeh, Mehdi Mozaffarinejad, Faegh Hosseini, Behzad Gharbali, Behrang Daneshvaran, Mehrzad Seraj, Solmaz Reshadatjou, Kiarmin Mokari, and many more, up to this day, the names of goodness shine like precious gems in the list of over 2,000 volunteers at Omid Charity in Urmia.

What do Omid volunteers do?

Executive and Event Activities

• Assisting at the Omid Store and related tasks involving product display and organization
• Participating in the execution of celebrations, festivals, and charity bazaars
• Providing executive support for events (registration, coordination, guidance, hospitality, and logistics)

Administrative and Communication Affairs

• Helping with administrative tasks, archiving, responding to inquiries, internal coordination, and dispatching parcels
• Collecting and organizing public donations (cash and non-cash) within defined frameworks
• Public relations, engaging with audiences, covering events, and interacting with the media

Content, Research, and Specialized Tasks

• Creating and preparing print and digital content (design, editing, photography, video, writing)
• Translation, research, and collaboration on educational and informational projects
• Assisting with social work services (within the guidelines and maintaining information confidentiality)
