At the end of Ramadan, generous worshippers across Iran, West Azerbaijan and Urmia contributed more than five billion rials through Zakat al-Fitr and compensation for missed fasts to support cancer treatment.
Omid Public Relations reported a total of 5,066,154,532 rials. Donations came through four collection points in Urmia, provincial branches, the website's Zakat al-Fitr payment gateway and transfers to Omid's Tejarat Bank card, 5859837000122040.
On behalf of patients in need and their families, Omid thanks donors throughout Iran and the national and provincial media, including Asr Iran, for presenting the association's mission and activities and identifying the collection points.
In 1399, Solar Hijri, public donations enabled Omid to spend more than three billion tomans on treatment, accommodation and household assistance for patients with cancer and their families. Poverty and cancer continue to cause hardship, and Omid humbly hopes for continued support from generous donors to ease that suffering.
