Commendation by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Omid Charity

Dr. Kheshabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Omid Charity Association, highlighted the pivotal role of the charity within the healthcare infrastructure of northwestern Iran during the ceremony. Expressing his gratitude for the community’s continuous philanthropic support, he stated: “We hope this project will be commissioned within the scheduled timeframe, helping alleviate a significant part of the hardships faced by patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.”

Second Major Initiative in the Past Six Months

Eng. Aziz Mataei, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Omid Charity Association, remarked at the event: “Omid Guest House 2 is the second major project to break ground within the Omid Charity complex in the past six months, following the new Chemotherapy Center. With the generous backing of our benefactors, we look forward to completing the clinical and welfare infrastructure of the Omid Charity Association.”

Crucial Need of Out-of-Town Patients for Accommodation

Peyman Ghanizadeh, CEO of Omid Charity Association, emphasized the essential need of cancer patients for lodging facilities, stating: “A substantial portion of cancer treatment involves outpatient care, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Consequently, patients traveling to Urmia from other towns and remote areas often find it impossible to commute back and forth daily due to the lengthy duration of their treatment protocols.”
Ghanizadeh added: “Patients from various cities across West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and other northwestern provinces visit Omid Charity Hospital for treatment. Providing safe, dignified housing for them and their caregivers throughout their stay has always been one of our core concerns. Therefore, constructing this second guest house was prioritized to expand lodging capacity and elevate service standards. We hope that with the operation of this facility, the logistical and financial burdens on patients and their families will be substantially eased.”

Omid Guest House 1: A Decade of Dedicated Service

It is worth noting that the first Omid Guest House (Saraye Omid 1), located approximately one kilometer from the hospital, was founded in 2014 (1393 SH). To this day, it provides daily lodging and three free meals a day to 120 patients and their companions. The opening of Omid Guest House 2 will add another 107 beds to this vital capacity.
