Why Was Omid Accommodation House Established?
Cancer treatment costs are heavy and devastating for many families. Non-local patients usually cannot afford to stay in city hotels or guesthouses and are sometimes forced to pitch tents in the hospital grounds or nearby parks. In cold seasons, they would stay in lodgings that lacked the basic standards for the rest of a cancer patient.
These patients, especially after receiving medication, due to physical weakness and a weakened immune system, need at least 24 hours of rest in a calm, contamination‑free environment. For this reason, the Omid Association decided to establish Omid Accommodation House to address a significant part of the concerns of patients and their families.
