On 18 Tir 1401, Solar Hijri, West Azerbaijan Governor Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian and his delegation visited Omid's radiotherapy center to learn about its difficulties.
Board chair Dr Khoshabi explained that one radiotherapy machine had broken down and another was worn out. The province's principal radiotherapy unit was effectively operating with only one machine, causing considerable hardship for patients and families. Around 200 new patients join existing patients each month. With two machines out of service, people wait for hours, sometimes overnight, while many families face months of waiting for treatment.
In a meeting with the board and relevant officials, Omid described obstacles to obtaining a replacement machine. The governor made calls to national officials that led to positive steps toward resolving these barriers. He also heard the board's requests for assistance through the foreign-exchange medical equipment trustees and bank financing.
Omid remains committed to fighting cancer and meeting patients' treatment and household needs. This work requires charitable participation across society and institutional support. With God's help, generous donors and public officials, we hope to ease patients' difficulties and bring relief to them and their families.
