Social Work Unit of the Omid Charity Association

This unit was established to improve the quantity and quality of services provided to visitors, and to guide and support clients through the administrative processes of the covered treatment units. In effect, the Social Work Unit serves as a bridge between the organization and the patient, and based on predefined, expert-based criteria, provides financial and non-cash assistance to support covered cancer patients.

Scope of Activity

The Social Work Unit of the Omid Charity Association operates in two sections: Pediatric Social Work and Adult Social Work. It should be noted that the Pediatric Social Work section functions under the supervision of the Mahak Charity Institute, with a memorandum of understanding concluded to this effect.

Admission and Support Process

Cancer patients, upon visiting the relevant section, have a case file opened for them and, after completing the supplementary stages, receive support from the organization. In accordance with the rules and forms completed during an in-person interview with the patient, the percentage of assistance is determined in the patient’s file.

Annual Supportive Celebrations

The Social Work Unit holds celebrations twice a year to support clients: in Esfand (Nowruz Celebration) and in Shahrivar (Mehraneh Celebration). These events are organized annually by the Omid Association for Supporting Cancer Patients in the conference hall of Omid Hospital.

The purpose of these celebrations is to provide joyful and pleasant moments for the families of cancer patients, and to strengthen a sense of vitality and hope for life in the patients themselves. Additionally, help is extended to these families by donating packages of food, hygiene products, stationery, and clothing as gifts.
