This 5-story project, featuring 60 inpatient beds and approximately 3,000 square meters of infrastructure, will be carried out over the course of one year.
With the groundbreaking ceremony for the new chemotherapy building on the northern grounds of Omid Hospital, the donors of Omid Charity Association have taken another step in developing and completing the diagnostic and treatment infrastructure for cancer patients.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Omid Charity Association, referring to the association’s goals of meeting the diagnostic and therapeutic needs of cancer patients, described the construction of this new building as an effective step in completing the treatment infrastructure of the chemotherapy ward at Omid Charity Hospital.
Dr. Khashabi announced the required budget for this building as 500 billion rials (50 billion tomans) and said:
“The esteemed benefactor, Engineer Hassan Zanjani, has undertaken 350 billion rials (35 billion tomans) of this cost, and the remaining 150 billion rials (15 billion tomans) has been undertaken by Mr. Engineer Molavi, Mr. Engineer Mataei, Mr. Engineer Sonboli, Mr. Engineer Fotourai, and Mr. Engineer Goshadehfekr.”
Engineer Mataei (Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Omid Charity Association) also highlighted the features of the new chemotherapy unit building, saying:
“This 5-story building includes 2 floors for parking and storage, a ground floor for patient reception, and 2 upper floors with a total of 60 beds for the hospitalization of chemotherapy patients, totaling 3,000 square meters of infrastructure, to be built in one year.”
He also estimated the cost required to equip this unit with the most advanced devices and infrastructure in the field of cancer treatment at around 150 billion rials (15 billion tomans), which will be funded with the participation of donors after the building construction is completed.
The chemotherapy unit of Omid Charity Hospital is currently operating on the ground floor of the hospital with 36 active beds, providing free services to more than 120 patients daily. With over 35 years of activity in supporting and treating underprivileged cancer patients, Omid Charity Association has today become the largest non-governmental organization in the northwest of the country.
