According to Omid Public Relations, during a conference aimed at self-care education, prevention, and breast cancer screening held at the hall of the Sardasht Cultural and Arts Complex, more than 250 women from Sardasht learned about methods to prevent breast cancer.

This conference was organized in coordination with the Sardasht branch of Omid Charity and featured an active presence by Dr. Sima Davoudi, a radio-oncology specialist. She explained various dimensions of breast cancer, early signs of tumors, self-examination methods, the importance of annual screening for women after age 40, and treatment methods for the disease as key topics of her lecture.

Dr. Davoudi also answered questions raised by the women attending this educational conference. At the end of the event, she conducted free clinical breast examinations for a number of the women present in a private examination room.

The presence of Sardasht media outlets helped reflect this educational conference positively in the public opinion of Sardasht citizens.

According to health activists, one out of every eight Iranian women develops breast cancer. Physicians recommend self-care, screening, continuous mammography after age 40, and timely referral to a treating physician as the best strategies for early detection and effective treatment of breast cancer.
