For a specialized cancer hospital, this is not a simple shortage; it is a gap between life and death.
The Omid Charity Association has been trying to acquire an MRI machine for years, but war, declining support from local donors, and economic pressures have made this goal impossible to achieve alone.
The hospital has been forced to allocate a significant portion of its budget to essential needs to stay operational, including:
The severe increase in the cost of medical equipment, medicine, and other treatment supplies has drastically raised hospital expenses.
On the other hand, with the deepening economic crisis, public donations and support from local businesses have significantly decreased.
Existing MRI machines in the province are overwhelmed by the high volume of patients or have been decommissioned.
As a result, patients who cannot travel to Omid Hospital effectively have no suitable alternative for MRI services.
Due to its effective services and humanitarian activities at both national and international levels, the Omid Charity Association has successfully received the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Consultative Status for the fifth consecutive year. This status reflects the credibility, transparency, and continuous impact of Omid Charity in supporting cancer patients.
